The application

A good application is not a repetition of your CV – it is a focused presentation of why you are a good fit for the position and how you can create value for the company. At Foodjob Nordic, we emphasize applications that are honest, focused and written with the recipient in mind.
Here is our best advice on how to structure a convincing application.
🧱 1. Introduction – grab attention right away
Start with a personal and motivated introduction. Tell us why you are applying for this position – and what makes you interested in the company and the role.
Example:
“I was particularly curious about this position because you combine product development with sustainability – two areas where I have both experience and ambitions.”
Avoid: generic sentences like “I hereby submit my application for the position…”
🎯 2. Your motivation – why you, for that job
Explain why you think you are the right fit for the position. Use 2-3 concrete examples of experience, achievements or skills that match the requirements of the position. Think about what the company needs – and how you can contribute.
Tip: You don’t have to write everything – choose the most important ones that match that particular role.
🧩 3. Your contribution – show what you can create
Speak briefly about what the company can expect from you. It’s not just about experience, but also about approach, work values and collaboration style.
Example:
“I thrive at the intersection of production and quality, and I have previously been responsible for implementing new processes that reduced waste by 18%.”
🤝 4. Closing – round off with style and initiative
End positively and with a clear signal that you are looking forward to a dialogue. You don’t have to write that you “hope you will read my application” – go out with energy and confidence.
Example:
“I look forward to the opportunity to contribute with my experience – and to hearing more about the position.”
📌 Check list: A good application should contain:
✅ A motivated and targeted introduction
✅ 2–3 sharp, relevant experiences or results
✅ Focus on how you can contribute
✅ A positive and active ending
✅ Max 1 A4 page (approx. 300–400 words)
👀 Also remember…
– Adapt your application to the specific job – every time
– Write to the recipient, not just “about yourself”
– Avoid clichés like “I am good at collaborating” – show it with examples
– Proofread – and have someone else proofread with you
