Commercial Manager – Food Ingredients
Foodjob Nordic is looking for a Commercial Manager to join AKV’s Global Sales & Application Center in Agro Food Park, Aarhus. This is a hands-on international sales role, where you will be responsible for developing and growing AKV’s business across selected global markets – with a particular focus on Latin and South America. You will work closely with the commercial team and play a key role in driving new business, building customer relationships and developing distribution partnerships.
The position is based in Agro Food Park and reports to the Sales Director.
The role
As Commercial Manager, your primary responsibility is to drive sales and market development within AKV’s portfolio of native starch and value-added potato-based solutions. You will work both directly with customers and through distributors and take ownership of developing new markets and strengthening existing relationships, with a strong focus on new business development. This is a role with a clear commercial focus and a high degree of autonomy, where you are expected to take initiative and create results.
Key responsibilities
- Drive sales development and business growth in international markets
- Develop and execute go-to-market activities in collaboration with the commercial team (CCO, Sales Director, Application Director and Technical Sales)
- Identify and build relationships with new customers and distribution partners
- Manage and develop existing customer relationships
- Responsible for pricing, negotiations and commercial agreements according to guidelines
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Export Sales Coordinator, Application, Production, QC and R&D when needed
What we are looking for
We are looking for a commercially driven profile with an international mindset and ambition.
- Experience from a sales role – preferably within food, ingredients or B2B
- International outlook and interest in working across cultures
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- Structured and proactive with a drive to create results
- Comfortable working in a smaller, entrepreneurial organization
You should have some years of experience and strong commercial potential. Experience from the food ingredients industry is an advantage, but not a requirement.
Additional qualifications
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Spanish is a strong advantage, especially in relation to Latin/South America
- Experience working with distributors is a plus
Travel activity
You should expect 60–80 travel days per year, primarily to international markets.
