Commercial Manager – Pet Food and Feed Ingredients

On behalf of our client AM NUTRITION AS, Foodjob Nordic is now seeking a skilled Commercial Manager to drive the European sales responsibility for pea protein, starch and fiber for the pet food and feed sector. The right candidate has several years of experience in international sales of ingredients for the pet food and/or feed sectors and can generate growth through co-creation and relationship-based sales. The right candidate can focus on revenue optimization in both the short and long term and create win-win situations.

The Commercial Manager reports to the VP Sales & Marketing based in Norway and will have direct sales responsibility for ingredients to the international pet food industry in collaboration with colleagues in the high performing R&D and sales support organization. A natural part of the responsibility includes the preparation and adherence to business plans, account management, budgets, technical representations, fairs etc. 

You have a strong commercial drive, the ability to familiarize yourself with the slightly more technical issues that our customers face and, on this basis, understand how to develop the business for both customers and AM NUTRITION. You can find solutions and create results independently, but just as important, you can create results in collaboration with and through others, just as you are able to collaborate with the company's other employees. The profile of the company is based on natural and sustainable ingredients, and the Commercial Manager must be able to present these advantages as well as the high nutritional and functional quality of pea-based ingredients to clients with passion and a co-creation mindset. 

In the position there will be an extensive degree of freedom under a clear responsibility and expectation from AM NUTRITION, and the company will provide the Commercial Manager with the right framework and the right sparring to work independently. The position requires a certain amount of drive, action and the ability to both analyze and solve problems quickly as they arise, with clear communication to the rest of the team. 

Primary tasks will be

  • Drive the European sale of pea protein, starch and fiber to the pet food and feed sectors
  • Preparation and adherence to sales/customer plans, budgets, fairs etc.
  • Segmentation of customers and countries for focused sales efforts
  • Be AM Nutrition’s specialist and "go-to person" in the pet food and feed area
  • Generate ideas for creating value-added products, solutions and business models 

Personal skills

  • Strong commercial drive with ability to be both a merchant and a strategist
  • A relationship-creating nature that is interested in our customers and their needs
  • Independent and targeted profile with good collaboration skills
  • Skilled communicator and sparring partner at all levels
  • English and preferably a Scandinavian language in writing and speech
  • Flexibility in terms of travel activity 

The position will be home based with visits to the head office in Stavanger, Norway. An attractive salary package is offered based on qualifications.
