Dairy Technologist - AAK Customer Innovation Center in Karlshamn

AAK has more than 140 years of experience innovating and customizing solutions on vegetable oils and fats. Through a unique co-development approach the company work together with customers across the customer value chain to develop solutions fulfilling specific customer needs. 
 
The position 
The pilot plant for dairy products is responsible for three laboratories and as Dairy Technologist your work will be related to these: 
 
In the dairy application lab the team works with whipping cream, ice cream, yoghurt, cheese, spread and margarine in pilot scale. You will play a significant role in the production of various dairy products and in the evaluation of the different end products.  
 
In the physical chemistry laboratory the team study basic fundamental properties such as crystal forms, rheological properties, melting and crystallization behavior of oils and fats as well as customer products.  
 
In the sensory lab the team scientifically evaluate different attributes in the end products by using a trained panel. You will take part in experimental design, evaluation of results, training activities and in maintaining the quality of our different taste panels and the practical work around the taste sessions.  
 
In your daily work you will be interacting with both colleagues and customers in relation to different customer projects and studies. You will also give support to AAK Academy seminars in sensory science and be part of customers visiting Karlshamn.
 
Qualifications and skills 
You have a theoretical background as technologist, engineer or scientist – preferably with a specialization in dairy but potentially with a broader food related orientation. Besides this you have some years practical experience working with development or manufacturing of dairy products or dairy related food products. 
 
Your approach to your work is structured and methodical, and you know your way around a laboratory. Besides this you are familiar working with statistics.  
 
As a person you are a team player who is motivated and open to growth and challenges. You are detail oriented, focus on results and strive to deliver a high level service and create the best possible solutions.
