The offered position
This is a unique opportunity to combine focused research, application of new technologies and hands-on laboratory work in an industrial context. As project responsible, you will be defining and running a few very focused mid to long term projects aimed at setting new standards in the bakery industry. This includes:
- Finding new ways through persistent efforts
- Working at different levels - from the academic to the application oriented
- Managing projects using milestones so that deadlines are met
- Developing and maintaining an external network at universities, companies, etc.
You will be part of an international group of research scientists reporting to the VP/Head of R&D and you will be based in Merksem near Antwerp, Belgium. You must expect some travelling, mainly within Europe.
You have already acquired significant R&D expertise from the bakery industry on top of a solid theoretical foundation on Ph.D. or M.Sc. level. Even more importantly, you are still driven by a passion for developing specialty ingredients for bakery applications.
You are comfortable working in an international group with many internal and external contacts and stakeholders. Fluency in oral and written English is a requirement.
