Operational Excellence & Engineering Manager – Bioingredients
Foodjob Nordic is now looking for an experienced Operational Excellence & Engineering Manager with a strong background within manufacturing and engineering within the food and/or biotechnology industry. Reporting to the Vice President Operations in the Lallemand Bio-Ingredients Division, you will be managing a team of European project engineers and the Operation Excellence team across 8 production sites driving a manufacturing excellence agenda.
As Operational Excellence & Engineering Manager you are the intermediate link between R&D and Operations, and will work with project engineers and external engineering consultants in Europe to establish and prioritize capital expenditures (CAPEX) opportunities to implement solutions to achieve short, medium and long-term goals.
Job profile:
- Supports the Plant Managers and Plant Engineers for the on-site CAPEX plans to assure and meet health and safety programs, quality improvements, mid-term to long- term capacity requirements and environmental regulations
- Research latest technical opportunities for process improvements and better cost control.
- Assures the approved CAPEX are completed within financial budget.
- Participates in the identification of financial and operational opportunities.
- Manage organizational development and succession planning for the European engineering group.
The Operational Excellence & Engineering Manager will be responsible for the design, deployment, implementation, and sustainability of European divisional Operations Excellence programs, including but not limited to day-to-day operations management and Continuous Improvement programs. Your European Operations Excellence team will assure the link between R&D projects and their transfer to the pilot plant and production.
- Ensure the sharing of best practices and benchmarking internally through networking within the Lallemand organization.
- Implements and leads network and plant improvement groups.
- Implements and leads network and plant improvement groups.
- Manage the HR processes incl. employee & organizational development and succession planning for the Manufacturing Excellence team.
Qualifications
- Holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering within biotechnology, food processing or chemical engineering
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant management experience in biotechnology, food processing or chemical engineering
- Financial acuity regarding performance indicators
- Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communicator, ease in interacting with all levels of the organization
- High level of English proficiency, spoken and written, is essential
- Must be able to travel on a regular basis across company sites
