Production Manager Food Production – Norway
Foodjob Nordic is now seeking a skilled Production Manager with a solid production background from the meat or/and food industry to strengthen day-to-day operations in a market-leading food company based in Norway. Prima Brands Group has its main business in the green and blue sector of the Norwegian Food Industry through 3 groups. Within the green sector, the Prima Brands group is active in the entire value chain, with slaughtering, trimming and processing of Premium meat, with a sales and development focus in the Premium market for groceries and commercial kitchens. In 2022, Prima Brands and Prima Idsøe had a combined turnover of NOK 2.1 billion and approximately 250 employees. The Seafood group Prima Blue has established the production of marine proteins and oils as well as the filleting and sale of pelagic fish. In 2022, the Prima Blue group had a turnover of NOK 750 million and approximately 50 employees.
The Production Manager reports to the CEO, and your area of responsibility includes operational management, staff planning, maintenance plans and production economics with strong focus on costs, delivery capacity, hygiene and quality across departments and functions.
The right candidate is a strong hands-on manager with a natural overview of the production, strong to follow up on KPIs and agreements and is a skilled food professional that enjoys to be close to operations as you will get direct staff responsibility for a large team of employees. It is your job to ensure and establish the right framework for employee performance, flexibility and well-being. The company's production is characterized by highly skilled and motivated employees of different nationalities.
The Production Manager must ensure that your team of employees are involved through information and delegation of responsibility focusing on KPIs for, for example: security, quality, capacity and work environment. You will get a very independent role and the opportunity to have strong influence on the solutions of challenges in a busy and international environment.
Profile and Qualifications:
The right professional foundation for the job is a food-related education and solid production experience from the meat industry, preferably with beef and lamb production. Focus on quality and hygiene, combined with the constant search for optimizations and rationalizations, is highly prioritized.
Management skills are a key element of the job, and therefore it is a prerequisite for success that you are very hands-on and have a sound managerial style with a high degree of visibility in production as the business is very fast paced. Your ability to make things happen through targeted, result-oriented management and motivation of your team is essential to deliver good results. It is important that you are a visible and committed leader who finds it natural to take responsibility, create peace of mind and like to lead by example. Equally important, however, is your ability to involve and engage with your employees and create the right positive team spirit through the focus on communication and collaboration.
