Sales Manager – Food Ingredients

Foodjob Nordic is looking for a Sales Manager for DKSH Nordic. DKSH Nordic distributes ingredients and specialty chemicals in the Nordics and the Baltics.

Typical customers are producers of food, medicine, cosmetics, paint, mortar, glue etc. DKSH Nordic is part of the Swiss listed company DKSH, which operates in 36 markets and has 33.100 employees worldwide. The DKSH Nordics team consists of 21 employees with a majority being based in the office in Denmark but including employees in Sweden, Finland and the Baltics.

The position

With reference to the Managing Director you will be accountable for the achievement of sales targets for the food ingredients business including responsibility of managing costs, new business development and GM2 responsibility. You will be developing marketing and sales strategies to achieve sales targets and you will proactively scout for new business opportunities by developing and managing the product portfolio. The role entails:

  • Visiting mainly new but also existing customers on a regular basis while in parallel building and maintaining relationships with suppliers
  • Negotiation and deal closing with customers
  • Monitoring, forecasting and reporting on markets, sales, costs and margins and proposing areas for customer base expansion based on market knowledge
  • Manage customer issue resolutions and recommend preventive actions to minimize future incidents
  • Update and maintain projects and compile meeting reports in Salesforce

Working with both a local and a European team you will cooperate with sales support to effectively manage the day to day business and you will liaise with technical specialists and other staff functions. You will also coordinate with other DKSH business teams with regards to identifying and developing potential market opportunities.

The position can be based in one of the DKSH offices in either Denmark, Sweden or Finland or at home office in the Nordics. A significant level of travelling is expected – mainly in the Nordics and the Baltics.

 

Profile

Based on a relevant academic degree you have already achieved a +5 year track record within sales of raw materials or ingredients to the food industry or some closely related industry. A broad knowledge of the food markets in the Nordics and the Baltics is a definite advantage. So is a broad technical understanding of food ingredients and applications.

Your sales toolbox is well developed and you posses a good understanding of sales processes from strategy to execution in a corporate setting. This includes professional usage of MS-Office and profound experience working with CRM tools.

It is a prerequisite for success that you posses an entrepreneurial spirit and can-do mentality combined with a structured approach and a team orientation. So is your ability to build strong relations with customers and suppliers, and you have excellent communications skills, verbally and in writing, in one of the Scandinavian languages and in English.
