Foodjob Nordic is looking for an entrepreneurial and experienced professional to join Biosyntia.

Biosyntia focus primarily on producing important nutrients such as vitamins and antioxidants for use in industries such as personal care, dietary supplements, food fortification and animal feed. It is Biosyntia’s mission to enable a future where vitamins and other ingredients are manufactured biologically and hence leverage the full potential of biology to deliver more sustainable, natural, better and cheaper ingredients than today’s solutions offer.

With investors Novo Holdings and Soffinnova Partners Biosyntia has until now raised EUR 10 million, and since the inception in 2012 Biosyntia has cooperated with more than 20 different academic partners and more than 20 different industry partners. Biosyntia is expected to have their first commercial product ready in early 2022 and have a strong pipeline of new opportunities to follow.

Position

Reporting to the CEO you will be working closely together with business development, R&D and management to bring Biosyntia’s commercial ambitions to life. You will be the main responsible for building new customer relationships, testing new value propositions in the market and closing the first sale.

Your responsibility will include:

  • Driving customer dialogues from initial leads to closed sales orders
  • Work with 3rd parties to develop sales materials based on customer needs and USPs
  • Investigate the competitive landscape in order to optimize the go-to-market approach
  • Vetting and establishing and maintaining distributor relationships
  • Transforming qualitative and quantitative market insights into actionable insights used for product positioning, pricing etc.
  • Market analysis and establishing business cases for new potential pipeline products and for use in soft funding and investor relations

Working with the sales activities on both strategic and operational level, you will be qualifying new business opportunities in close cooperation with R&D and management. As sales manager you will be handling all sales activities for near-to-market products and you will be the one initiating the dialogue with potential customers though cold-calling or though networking activities like conferences, trade fairs etc.

Owning the full breadth of the sales and marketing activities you are offered a position with significant growth potential both professionally and personally. Moreover you will join an international team of 20 team-oriented and entrepreneurial people, who are passionated about making a difference in the world. The position is based in Symbion in Copenhagen - Denmark’s largest business environment for innovative companies. A significant amount of travelling activity should be expected.

Profile

To successfully build the commercial capabilities of Biosyntia, you have a significant track record working B2B with personal care or human nutrition related products, hereunder active ingredients.

You have a well developed commercial toolbox besides a strong conceptual approach to marketing products and conducting sales. This combined with your market knowledge enables you to identify opportunities, qualify these with the technical team and generate and convey the right communication to test concepts and products with the market.

A relevant technical degree within food technology or another related field, is a plus but not a must. However you need to have a certain level of understanding of the technical aspects of the products and their applications. Most importantly you are able to translate the technical aspects into a market perspective and you are a skilled communicator in English – both written and orally - with an excellent command of relevant IT-tools and platforms.

On the personal side you are a go-getter with a strong drive for outbound activities and closing of sales. You are motivated by identifying customers’ needs and coming up with solutions they buy into.

With a positive spirit which is solution- and feedback oriented you find excitement in varying tasks and in a work environment with changing priorities.

Last but not least you are motivated by joining a growing start-up company with its challenges and opportunities, and you can work independently, but you appreciate and recognize the need for a team.
